Specialty Gardens
Butterfly Gardens
In 1999 a butterfly Garden was developed by the Master Gardeners, led by Dave McLean with a grant from the Canadian Wildlife Federation. It is a beautiful horseshoe garden with two arbours leading to the centre where there is a Ivory Silk Lilac Tree.
Welcome Garden
In 2009, a Welcome Garden was created on either side of the Trans Canada Trail. It beautifully welcomes visitors into the main portion of the Lilac Gardens and was created to provide year round interest in the gardens.
Heroes Garden
In 2010, a Heroes Garden was added in partnership with the Salute to Heroes committee. A Lilac shrub was planted and dedicated to honour each group of Heroes, the military, the police, the fire and the emergency services.
